In contrast, the output speed sensor monitors the speed of the output shaft linked to the wheels. Both sensors work with the TCM, but the input one focuses on synchronizing engine and transmission speeds to ensure smooth, accurate gear shifts, while the output one mainly helps regulate overall vehicle speed.
